Happy Holidays and 2012 preparation reminder!

Happy Holidays!

It's been super busy here in preparation for the holiday, but got a minute to wish you a safe and relaxing holiday season.

Bookings are now being taken for the upcoming 2012 holidays:

+ Super Bowl 46

+ Valentine's Day

+ St. Patrick's Day

The first push for 2012 is the Super Bowl.  Is it time to upgrade your A/V setup?  How about adding surround?  Interested in custom integration or just need someone to set up your new system in time for the game?  This is an area of focus for the new year: whether preparing your game-day party or installing an inpressive system.

Party planning, ticketing and accomodations, event/private bartending, white-glove deliveries, A/V setup and integration, etc.  You know who to call!

Ok, this fall was spent on projects relating to retail event openings and such.  As you know, I prefer catering to specific individual needs so for this holiday season I am offering the following:

+ GIFT WRAPPING

+ DOOR TO DOOR DELIVERY

+ PRESENT PACKAGING AND SHIPPING

I will deal with the USPS, FEDEX AND UPS so you don't have to.

I will deliver your gifts and challenge the cold rain snow and traffic.

I will creatively wrap your gifts for presentation.

I am available early mornings and evenings in December, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are already booked!!!

New jobs, projects

Have not updated the blog in some time as this summer got busier, especially after the storms with new work and new projects.  I got a chance to re-upholster furniture, assist in storm renovation in Pennsylvania as well as get a chance to pick fresh raspberries.  Here are some photos:

Picking out fabrics for a 6-dining room chair re-upholstering job.  This is probably my favorite part..
 ...

Taking off the old worn-out seat covers and de-stapling the mesh from each frame.  Not fun.  I replaced each mesh with muslin, double stapled and as tight as a drum.
...

The new fabric streched over seat one.  3 yards did the trick.
...

This fabric was a treat to work with, soft and silky to touch, thick so alot of careful folding to fit the covers to look like new..
...

The finished product, at the head of the table..
...

Angle #2
...

Also got a gig to replace the facade that was damaged during the torrential storms in August.  This facade was rotten from underneath, so even the underlying plywood had to be replaced.  A quick half-days work, I was responsible for getting (and appying) paint to the frame that matched the apartment exactly.  The wood panel (white part) ws also replaced with concrete board that I painted..

...

In context..

...

Took some time out to pick raspberries.  Up early in the morning to beat the birds but alot were damaged from the rain as well. (Too much rain is bad for these too).

No problem with these though.  I enjoy making a rapberry spread and as a replacement for peanut butter and jelly : )

...

More later,
Thomas

eBay

I decided to put up a couple of gems from my youth on eBay.  These are items I designed and made by hand.  Studded belts, boots, jackets, etc.  I got quite good at it but eventually out grew them (literally).

Size 30" belt with 1/2" and 1/4" nickel studs

with buckle

8-eye Dr. Martens "Greasy green" with 1/4" cone style studs.

the original DM waffle

You can view these items (until someone bids) on my eBay page here at:

http://myworld.ebay.com/thomas_oktober

I did all the photo arrangement, design of the actual items and manage the eBay page.  If you would like help with your eBay page, photos of your items or fashion accessory design, please ask!

Ingredients for hosting and relaxation...

July turned out to be busier than expected.  Some highlights were learning how to make Sake-tinis, Got a graphics gig with a capital management firm, hosting a a few cocktail barbeques: one an afternoon cocktail party where barbeque tofu and frozen skrewdrivers with mint were at the top of the menu.  Below are some photos from a trip to Pennsylvania to get some homegrown ingredients:

Raspberries.

Bee balm leaf.

Lettuce.

Cabbage.

Rows of green peppers.

Freshly picked camomile

Squash.

3 horses down towards the middle there.

Silo.

Facing the southwest (Appalachian valley in the distance)

Turkey vulture.

Male Humming bird.
